While abroad in 1990, William sent the original photograph from the Boston Globe of October 24, 1950 to Boston English High School, Est. 1821, the oldest public high school in America.

In 1992 William visited Boston English High School. TheHeadmaster and staff took William upstairs to the Hall of Fame on the second floor. They said his letter and Boston Globe Article of October 24,1950 would be an inspiration for all present and future students about overcoming obstacles.

They said: "We didn't even place SPOCK of Star Trek in the Hall of Fame!

Hall of Fame Contains: J.P.Morgan-letter and photograph - General Matthew Ridgeway - letter & Photograph - and the Boston Globe Article of 1950 a long with the three page Letter Written in London.

On June 1, 2005 William Tatum distributed thirty (30) gold watches at the AWARDS CEREMONY held at English High to the boys and girls selected by the Headmaster and staff. The watch reads: William 'to be of service to others' Tatum.

On June 1, 2006 William distributed twenty (20) watches at Boston English HighSchool.

On June 1, 2006 William distributed twenty (20) watches at The Timilty Middle School in Roxbury, Ma.
